PC ‘put relationships before public service’
Birmingham Mail
|September 12, 2025
A MIDLAND police officer convinced her friend not to report an alleged kidnapping because of her ‘divided loyalties; a misconduct hearing was told.
The hearing heard PC Knowles had ‘challenging personal relationships with men’ and ‘acted for personal gain to protect and preserve her intimate’ ties.
Knowles spoke to the victim's family and ‘actively prevented’ the incident from being flagged to police.
The panel heard ‘her ‘own self intimate relationships clearly came well before any sense of public service’
Knowles was found to have breached policing standards, with a panel finding that her actions amounted to gross misconduct.
