'Mountbatten Windsor' to live in Norfolk

SIR Keir Starmer has backed the King's decision to strip Andrew of his titles.

On Thursday evening Buckingham Palace announced Charles had formally taken away his brother's Prince and Duke of York titles and HRH style.

Andrew has also agreed to leave Royal Lodge in Windsor.

The former prince, whose friendship with convicted paedophile financier Jeffrey Epstein became an ongoing nightmare for the royal family, will be known as Andrew Mountbatten Windsor.

A spokesman for the Prime Minister said yesterday: “We fully support the decision taken yesterday by the Palace.

“We echo the statement yesterday that our thoughts and utmost sympathies have been and will remain with the victims and survivors of any and all forms of abuse.”

The King's decision effectively ends Andrew’s public life and leaves him with the status of a commoner - but he remains eighth in line to the throne.
