Man died as he crossed in front of cement mixer

A PEDESTRIAN was killed after being hit by a a slow-moving cement mixer truck as he crossed a road in Birmingham, an inquest heard.

Nehemiah Leachman had tried to cross the road “at brisk pace” at the junction of the A441 Pershore Road South and Watford Road in Cotteridge.
He suffered multiple injuries just before 4.45pm on September 19 last year.
West Midlands Ambulance Service sent two ambulances, a paramedic officer and a trauma doctor with a critical care paramedic to the scene. Despite the best efforts of medics, the 53-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene.
