Maiden welcomes friendly fire for Bears stars

BEARS Women's countdown to their debut season continues with four friendly games in the space of nine days - and first-team coach Ali Maiden says it is an opportunity for players to make an impression.
His side play four 50-over warm-up fixtures ahead of their Metro Bank One Day Cup opener against Hampshire Women at Edgbaston on April 23.
They start today against Durham, followed by The Blaze (April 11), Somerset Women (April 14) and finally Lancashire Thunder on April 18.
Edgbaston will host the first three friendlies before Bears Women switch to Portland Road for the Lancashire match. None of the games are open to the public.
Maiden says it will be a good test against other Tier 1 sides.
