Kind Chris can see finish line in marathon challenge
Birmingham Mail
|July 21, 2025
A MAN from Lichfield is just nine marathons away from completing a challenge that will have seen him run a mammoth 52 marathons in as many weeks, to raise vital funds for Birmingham Children's Hospital Charity.
-
Over the past 10 months, 34-year-old Chris Caddy has run 43 marathons and has so far raised over £2,115 to support the hospital's sick kids.
It all began last year when Chris, who is a train signaller for Network Rail, felt it was his time to give back to charity and as a proud dad to his seven-year-old daughter, Mia, it made sense to support one of the Midlands' most iconic children's institutions.
With his cause decided, Chris turned his attention to the challenge. A keen runner with a couple of marathons under his belt, Chris wanted to inspire Mia and push himself and take on a challenge so tough even he didn't know he would be able to complete - 52 marathons in a year.
