Keyboard warriors blurring line between football fact and fiction

SOCIAL media platforms X and Facebook have become an integral and addictive part of our football supporting lives and to be honest can be a brilliant part of modern living but can also be a toxic and harmful part of our lives.

Keyboard warriors blurring line between football fact and fiction

The amount of time most of us spend on social media is mind boggling.

I fully understand how the growth of social media platforms have given supporters of all clubs an opportunity to engage with their not only their club but with other like minded supporters as they all compete for likes or agreement with their views.

At one time, supporters had to wait until 6pm on Friday night or post-game on BRMB Radio to have their say on their team's performance or how their club was being run. Now they have 24/7 access 365 days a year to voice their opinions, and that is brilliant.

However, it has been proven that the daily need for likes and approval on social media can lead to and contribute to depression and anxiety and that is a concern that needs to be addressed.
