Holiday mishap was first sign of brain tumour

BIRMINGHAM man Tom Weatherstone has told how losing his way in a familiar family holiday was the first sign of a devastating brain tumour.

The nightclub worker, from Sheldon, had put his symptoms down to his lifestyle, but after couldn't find his way back from the beach in Perranporth in Cornwall, despite visiting the fishing village every year, he knew something was up.

The 23-year-old was already suffering from headaches, sickness and blurred pixelated vision in his right eye on the holiday in July 2022, but his tumour wasn’t diagnosed until March 2023, when a doctor spotted his hand tremors during an unrelated private appointment in March 2023.

Tom had been told he had a vitamin deficiency by his GP and was prescribed vitamin B12, D and folic acid.
