Children's deaths shocks and saddens neighbours

A NEIGHBOUR has spoken of the "horror" of two children being found dead in a house.

Meraj Ul Zahra, aged two, and three-year-old Abdul Momin Alfaateh, were found unresponsive inside a home in Corporation Street, Stafford, on Sunday.

Medics said "nothing could be done" to save the youngsters, and they were both confirmed dead at the scene.

Luke Browne, 61, who lives in the street, said he saw a forensics van and a police car parked up as he left for work on Sunday morning.

The book shop owner told the Press Association: "It's very sad. Children dying is a horror. It's quite painful to hear it."

Another neighbour, Ben Lowe, placed flowers at a police cordon yesterday morning.

Mr Lowe said: "It's just really sad. I live 10 to 15 doors away, I've got two children myself.
