Call for action as economic growth falls to just 0.1%

WEST Midland bosses have called for action from the Chancellor after it was revealed economic growth slowed to just 0.1% from July to September - with the economic situation in the region described as a 'crisis.

The Office for National Statistics said there had been a “marked” fall in car production in September as a result of the cyber-attack on Midland-based Jaguar Land Rover.

Reacting to the latest GDP data, Emily Stubbs, head of policy at Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce, said the region had been hit particularity badly by the cyber attack.
