Brum wins bid to stage European robotics fest

BIRMINGHAM has won the right to stage a prestigious robotics convention in two years' time which tourism bosses predict will bring in £1.5million.

The 18th edition of the European Robotics Forum (ERF) will take place in the city in 2027, with more than 1,500 international engineers, researchers, investors, entre-preneurs and policy makers expected to attend.

Birmingham beat European destinations including Bel-grade, Brussels, Tallinn and Zurich for the right to host the event.

The ICC will host the event from March 1-5 2027, with industry tours on the final day at some of the region’s most successful, internationally-recognised companies.
