Angry parents call for return of headteacher

‘OUTSTANDING’ LEADER LEFT ON FIRST DAY OF TERM
FURIOUS parents have demanded the return of an “outstanding” Birmingham headteacher after discovering he had left at the start of the new academic year.
Shocked families were notified last Tuesday that Oliver Wilson, head at Woodhouse Primary Academy in Quinton for the last seven years, had left with immediate effect.
They credited him with the school’s substantial improvement in recent years. An Ofsted inspection carried out in March said: “Woodhouse Primary Academy has taken effective action to maintain the standards identified at the previous inspection.”
An online petition is calling for Mr Wilson to be reinstated because “the sudden loss of a headteacher is a crisis that should be avoided at all costs”.
Greenheart Learning Partnership, which runs the school and nine others, says it is “committed to maintaining stability, transparency, and the highest standards of education”.
The change.org petition, which has attracted more than 300 signatures, is billed as a vote of no confidence in the partnership.
