£22m cycle route plan to cut car dependency

'CONNECTED CORRIDOR' WILL BE SAFER FOR CYCLISTS, SAYS COUNCIL
Artistic impressions of the proposed designs for the new Birmingham A38 cycle route that will link Longbridge to the city centre.
A £22.5m project to create a cycle route running from Birmingham city centre to Longbridge is set to take a crucial step forward.
The council has plans to extend the current route on the A38 from Selly Oak to Longbridge, creating a 'connected corridor' for cyclists from central Birmingham.
The Labour authority previously said the new 6km stretch of cycle route would help cut dependency on cars and provide a safer environment for both pedestrians and cyclists.
