Trump offers China to swap tariff cuts for TikTok deal

President Donald Trump raised the possibility Wednesday that he could relax steep tariffs on China in exchange for China supporting a deal for a sell TikTok to a new owner supported by the United States.
Acknowledging the Beijing is “going to have to play a role” in any transaction, Trump signalled to reporters at the White House that he could be open to negotiations if, “maybe I’ll give them a little reduction in tariffs or something to get it done,” he said.
