Tourist island unveils boat taxi plan for 14 potential pier sites

>>Phuket will introduce a boat taxi service aimed at reducing road congestion and enhancing transport options for both residents and tourists, with a trial run scheduled for November.
Ajoint memorandum of understanding (MoU) for the service was signed yesterday by the Phuket Provincial Administration and the Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation (DNP).
Phuket governor Sophon Suwannarat said the initiative supports the government's policy to enhance infrastructure and transport connectivity. It would also help ensure proper management of marine national parks and public safety.
Following the MoU signing, a joint panel from the local administration and the DNP will draft legislation and design a risk management framework.
