Thaksin receives first family prison visit

Former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra received his first family visit at Klongprem Central Prison yesterday, following the completion of his Covid-19 quarantine period.
Khunying Potjaman Damapong, Thaksin's former wife, and his daughters, ex-prime minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra and Pintongta Kunakornwong, were seen exiting the prison’s visiting area after meeting Thaksin.
Khunying Potjaman left without speaking to the press, but Ms Paetongtarn and Ms Pintongta did give interviews.
Ms Paetongtarn said Thaksin was in decent health and good spirits, despite experiencing occasional fluctuations in blood pressure and mild stress.
She said she could only see her father through a glass partition, with no physical contact, adding they were able to speak and offer words of encouragement.
