Senator files ethics complaint for jibe

Senator Nantana Nantavaropas has lodged a complaint with the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) against Senate Deputy Speaker Gen Kriangkrai Srirak and 17 members of the Senate Ethics Committee, accusing them of serious ethical violations and abuse of power in connection with a disciplinary case against her.
Speaking yesterday in parliament alongside her lawyer, Ananchai Chaiyadet, Ms Nantana alleged the committee had violated Senate regulations governing ethics and complaint procedures, arguing that the panel acted to punish her unfairly.
The dispute originates from an ethics complaint accusing Ms Nantana of insulting a fellow senator, a pork vendor, during a public forum.
