Thai rising stars Pitchamon Opat-niputh and Panitchaphon Teerarat-sakul advanced to the semifinals of the BWF Indonesia Masters yesterday but Ratchanok Intanon was forced to pull out with an injury.
The 19-year-old Pitchamon, ranked 36th in the world, fought back from a game down to defeat Nguyen Thuy Linh of Vietnam 21-18, 26-24, 21-12 in 72 minutes to reach the Super 500 semifinals for the first time.
