Pheu Thai hands charter bill draft to Wan

Pheu Thai has submitted its version of the charter amendment bill to parliament president Wan Muhamad Noor Matha in a bid to establish a Constitution Drafting Assembly (CDA).
The submission, led by Chusak Sirinil, head of the party’s legal team, seeks to amend Section 256 in order to pave the way for a new charter-drafting process.
The proposal calls for the creation of a CDA composed of 151 members — 100 elected directly from the provinces and 51 appointed from academia, professional groups, independent bodies, and other organisations. A 27-member Constitution Drafting Committee would then be formed to carry out the technical drafting.
