Office exploring lotto-style scheme

The Government Lottery Office (GLO) is studying the feasibility of issuing a “Jotto-style” lottery, in which private companies would manage the issuance of the lottery instead of the GLO.

According to a source from the Finance Ministry who requested anonymity, the lotto-style lottery would resemble systems used in other countries. For instance, if no one wins in a given draw, the prize money would roll over to the next draw, creating larger jackpots.

Regarding management, the source said the office may allow private companies to issue this type of lottery and handle the entire prize drawing process, instead of the office managing the ticket sales, prize draws and payouts as it currently does for the six-digit lottery, digital six-digit lottery, and N3 lottery.
