Two models for the formation of a constitution drafting assembly (CDA) and two options for a constitution drafting committee (CDC) are expected to be submitted to the main parliamentary committee working to amend the 2017 charter today, with the aim of finalising the framework this week.

Dr Cholnan Srikaew, a Pheu Thai MP for Nan and a member of the House working group on amending the constitution, said the group's discussion on Tuesday focused on how members of the CDA should be selected.

The group is a part of the House's main charter-amending committee.

The first model follows the version proposed by the People's Party (PP), which has been adopted by parliament as the main draft for consideration, he said. This calls for a 100-member advisory council elected directly by voters nationwide.
