Market conditions unfavourable for IPO
Mr Yod says the company is planning a major business expansion in 2026, potentially through more mergers and acquisitions.
Line Man Wongnai is to postpone its plan to list shares on the Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) this year due to unfavourable market conditions.
The company is considering listing shares on an overseas stock market, while looking to make an acquisition to create a growth opportunity by 2026.
It had intended to launch an initial public offering on the SET before completing a dual listing later by also listing on a foreign market.
“We decided to put back our planned listing for this year because of an unsuitable environment for going public,” Yod Chinsupakul, the company’s chief executive, told the Bangkok Post.
He said the local market situation is currently beyond SET’s ability to control. Global capital is flowing towards the US market, and the artificial intelligence (AI) and deep tech boom make it difficult for non-AI-focused markets like Thailand to attract funding.
He added that the company is considering a new timing for the listing and the market it will list on within 1-2 years.
