The United States signalled flexibility on a draft peace plan to end the Ukraine war that has drawn resistance from Kyiv, European allies and US lawmakers, ahead of talks on the proposal in Switzerland yesterday.

US President Donald Trump has given Ukraine until Nov 27 to approve the plan to end the nearly four-year conflict, but Kyiv is seeking revisions to a draft that accepts several of Moscow's longstanding demands.
Washington insisted Saturday that the proposal represents official US policy, rejecting claims by a group of US senators that US Secretary of State Marco Rubio had privately described the document as a Russian “wish list’.
The 28-point draft would require Ukraine to cede territory, reduce its armed forces and pledge not to join Nato. Speaking to reporters Saturday, Mr Trump said it was not his final offer and that he hoped to stop the fighting “one way or the other,” Mr Trump's special envoy for Ukraine, Mr Keith Kellogg, told Fox News the plan remained “a work in progress”.
