Khao Kradong dispute 'rests with new DoL chief'

Acting Prime Minister Phumtham Wechayachai reiterated that resolving the longstanding Khao Kradong dispute in Buri Ram is the duty of the newly appointed chief of the Department of Lands (DoL), believing the matter would be resolved soon.
Mr Phumtham, who is also a deputy prime minister and interior minister, yesterday commented on the appointment of Khajornkiat Rukpanichmanee, ex-governor of Chachoengsao, as director-general of the DoL, succeeding Pornpoth Penpas, on Thursday.
He confirmed that efforts to resolve the Khao Kradong land dispute could now proceed under the new chief and that "the matter has come to clear conclusion and it is the new chief's duty to proceed", he said.
