Ex-abbot and ‘medium’ detained

Luang Pho Alongkot Tikkapanyo, the former monk and abbot of Wat Phrabat Namphu, and Seksan “Mor Bee” Sapsuebsakul, a self-proclaimed spiritual medium who assisted the temple with fundraising, have been put under detention, with police opposing bail, citing potential flight risk.
Both suspects were escorted to the Central Criminal Court for Corruption and Misconduct Cases for detention yesterday after arrest warrants were issued for them by the court on Aug 22.
They were charged with embezzling temple donations, official misconduct, money laundering and conspiracy to launder funds, police said.
