EC considers recounts after ballot discrepancies

The Election Commission (EC) is considering ordering fresh counts at more than 20 polling stations after discovering discrepancies between the number of ballots cast and the number of voters recorded.
The issue has delayed the formal certification of MPs, 10 days after the election.
A source at the EC said the commission is also expected to approve recounts at more than 20 additional polling stations after officials reported "ballot overhang" discrepancies.
