Mixed doubles pair Dechapol Paavaranukroh and Supissara Paewsampran missed out on a chance to win their sixth career World Tour title after losing in the final of the US$950,000 (approx 30.87 million baht) BWF Japan Open in Tokyo yesterday.

Fifth seeds Dechapol and Supissara went down to defending champions and second seeds Jiang Zhen Bang and Wei Yaxin 19-21, 21-16, 15-21 as the Chinese pair won back-to-back Super 750 titles at the Tokyo Metropolitan Gymnasium.
Meanwhile, China’s former world No.1 Shi Yuqi won the men’s singles crown, beating French defending champion Alex Lanier 21-17, 21-15 in the title decider.
