Ministry may delay hike in airport fees
The Transport Ministry has pledged to finalise proposed airline relief measures, possibly including delaying aviation fee hikes and cutting jet fuel tax, with free domestic flights for foreign visitors, within 30 days.
Transport Minister Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn recently chaired a meeting with the Thai Airlines Association to discuss cost-management measures and state-imposed fees to relieve the burden on airlines and stimulate tourism-led economic recovery.
The association during the meeting presented a series of proposals, including postponing increases in aviation-related fees, such as the Air Navigation Services Charge (ANSC) and the Passenger Service Charge.
