Properties to see faster broadband in gigabit upgrade

WORK has begun on a major broadband upgrade that will connect some of the hardest to reach areas of Surrey.
As part of the Government's Project Gigabit, Openreach will build a new network to reach a number of towns and villages in the coming months.
The upgrade, described as once-in-a-generation, will allow properties to connect multiple devices at gigabit capable speeds and help businesses trade online and compete for decades to come.
The changes will centre around the News & Mail areas of Camberley, Frimley Green and Deepcut as well as in Virginia Water, West Horsley, Staines-upon-Thames, Egham and Englefield Green. They have been chosen as their location means they might miss out.
