Martin Scorsese praises humanity in Neeraj Ghaywan's film as it advances to top 15 in Academy Awards' International Feature race

India's Homebound has moved a step closer to the Oscars, with legendary filmmaker Martin Scorsese saying he was "deeply moved" by the film's story as it advanced to the next round of voting in the International Feature Film category.

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced on X that 15 films had progressed in the category. “Fifteen films advanced to the next round of voting in the International Feature Film category,” the post read, adding that Oscar nominations will be announced on January 22.
