Gujarat Technological University (GTU) will send 40 of its top students to a fully-funded training programme in the semiconductor industry at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore. This move aims to give students a competitive edge in the job market. The initiative, developed by IISc and industry leader Synopsys Inc., provides training and practical understanding of the field. GTU officials said the university's finance committee sanctioned the proposal to build a skilled workforce as Gujarat emerges as a semiconductor hub.
