On World Sandwich Day yesterday, we spoke to a few Amdavadis about love for sandwiches and sandwich memories they treasure

A sandwich isn’t just your bread and butter! There lies a world wrapped inside the two slices of the ubiquitous bread. And whatever goes between the two slices finds itself sandwiched, much to the delight of the one savouring it. On World Sandwich Day celebrated on November 3, we spoke to some foodies who celebrate the sandwich and we also bumped into some who were delighted and amused to know a special day was marked to celebrate the world’s favourite ‘junk food’ that has not just variations but a large number of takers too.

What is your favourite type of sandwich?

A sandwich that gives the zing feel is best. What it must include is onion, cheese, green chilli and capsicum.

Has a sandwich you made ever turned out weird?

Sometimes when ingredients fall off or when you grill and flip it, the contents fall out but then, it becomes crispy, messy and a good reason for shared laughter!

What is your best sandwich memory?
