40 miles marks 40 years for long-running club

MORE than 60 runners took part in a special 40-mile relay run through Accrington and surrounding towns.

Accrington Road Runners marked their 40th anniversary last Sunday.
Participants retraced some of the routes the club has enjoyed over the past four decades and each runner completed at least one mile of the route.
The relay began at 6am from the club's base at Accrington Cricket Club, with Pamela McCullagh and Vanessa Oldham setting off with a specially made baton to carry across Hyndburn.
