Potters boss aims to weave magic

UPBEAT boss Max Mitchell says the new arrivals at Potters Bar Town have filled him with ‘adrenaline’ ahead of his first full season in charge.

Mitchell took charge permanently in April following an interim spell at the wheel. It was the culmination of a turbulent season for the Hertfordshire club.

Flying high in the Isthmian Premier under Sammy Moore in the opening months of the season, Bar were stunned when he left for Isthmian South East strugglers Faversham Town in November.

Lee Protheroe stepped up to the hotseat and brought in Mitchell as his assistant, but results didn’t come and Protheroe resigned in March. In the end, Potters Bar finished 13th, a disappointing outcome given their early season form.

Having been at the club in the second half of the season, it gave Mitchell the chance to study the squad and see what surgery would be required this summer.
