A MEMBER of the group stepping in to save Scunthorpe United insists there is “enough money to manage the creditors” of the crisis-torn club.

IRON STAY CALM AND CARRY ON!

Fans feared the worst last week when David Hilton announced he was actively seeking a way out and had pulled funding from the former Championship outfit who slipped into National League North at the end of last season.

Board member and the club’s former commercial manager, Michelle Harness, took the reins and a controlling interest – defined on Companies House as 75 per cent or more of the shares – on Wednesday, despite a looming eviction from Glanford Park, winding up petitions, county court judgements and players and staff not being paid.

Fans even clubbed together to raise more than £68,000 to help staff in their hour of need.

In a club statement, Harness admitted “there are a lot of challenges and problems to overcome” but thanked Hilton, who she said had “taken no fee for the club and wiped all monies that he (had) personally invested to enable this deal to happen”.
