IRON AWE TOO MUCH FOR BULLS

SCUNTHORPE overwhelmed a disappointing Hereford side to surge to the top of the table.

The Bulls had won ten of their previous 11 home matches but rarely looked like extending that run as Danny Whitehall, Michael Kelly and Jacob Butterfield (2) all found the net for the Iron before the break.

Although Jason Cowley pulled one back, Callum Roberts restored the four-goal margin.

"It was a fantastic away win and a real statement to make," said Iron boss Jimmy Dean. "In the second half of the first half, I thought we were outstanding in the way we moved the ball and controlled things." Hereford opened with some promise as a poor back pass put Iron keeper Ross Fitzsimons under pressure.

He then had to move swiftly off his line as Jason Cowley's neat pass sent Adam Livingstone through.
