MANAGER Gavin Macpherson is relishing a baptism of fire when his Enfield Town side head to former Football League club Torquay United on the opening day of the season.
The Towners will head to the English Riviera on Saturday, August 10 for their National League South opener – and it’s a match that immediately highlights the fact they have entered a new world at Step 2. “We would have had to go there sometime so why not, hopefully, on a summer’s day,” said Macpherson, who guided the north London club to promotion via the Isthmian Premier play-offs.
