Madhya Pradesh's Jal Ganga Samvardhan Campaign represents a holistic approach to water resource management to ensure a water-secure future for the state.
-
Madhya Pradesh is currently witnessing a remarkable surge of community engagement through the Jal Ganga Samvardhan Campaign, a three-month-long initiative dedicated to the conservation and rejuvenation of the state's vital water resources. Launched on March 30 and to continue till June 30, 2025, this campaign has galvanised citizens across the state to participate actively in protecting and enhancing water sources.
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has been a driving force behind the campaign, emphasizing that "every drop of water contains the essence of life" and stressing the importance of public participation to avert a water crisis. The Jal Ganga Samvardhan Campaign is not limited to a single approach; it encompasses a multi-faceted strategy to address water conservation comprehensively. Key activities include the renovation and cleaning of traditional water sources such as ponds, wells, stepwells and rivers, ensuring their continued functionality.
