Maithili Thakur was born on 25 July 2000 in an Indian family having roots in classical singing and music to Pandit Sri. Ramesh Thakur and Smt. Bharti Thakur. She is named after the goddess Sita as well as her mother tongue. Maithili, along with her two brothers, Rishav and Ayachi was trained by their grandfather and father in Maithili Folk, Hindustani classical music, Harmonium and Tabla.
