TEACHER CAROLYN IS LACING UP HER SNEAKERS FOR CHANGE

Standing in front of her class of high school students, 'five' is a number that is often front of mind for Carolyn Brothers.

Statistically, up to five of the kids she is teaching could be living with family violence every day. It's an alarmingly high number, but one that Carolyn doesn't shy away from.

The teacher, from Dubbo, NSW, is hoping to encourage others to speak up as part of the annual Runners Against Violence (RAV) challenge, which begins on August 30.
