Chhetri, who served as the captain of both the Indian national team and Bengaluru FC in the Indian Super League, exemplified exceptional teamwork and leadership throughout his career. Playing as a forward, his prowess on the field has been nothing short of legendary.

Born on August 3, 1984, in Secunderabad, India, to K. B. Chhetri, an Indian Army officer, and Sushila Chhetri, a former player for the Nepal women's national team, Chhetri's football journey began in Darjeeling. Influenced by his parents' sporting backgrounds, he quickly rose through the ranks, showcasing his talent in various tournaments from a young age.
