Hiroshi Fujiwara delved deeper into his return to Moncler Genius in their latest collaborative menswear collection, an exploration of the 'everyday' futuristic men.

Everyday Punk

THERE IS ART IN THE EVERYDAY. It is subtly weaved in the hidden craftsmanship, only realised through touch and wear. It is also in the obvious; cheeky graphics with a touch of Y2K and a melange of cultural references. From playful cartoon creations to philosophical quotes written to disturb the mundanity of life, Hiroshi Fujiwara explores the artistry of 'everyday' pieces in his latest menswear collaboration with Moncler Genius.

A known friend of the brand, Fujiwara often shares his creativity with Moncler Genius through the years of collaborative ventures. This time, the DJ and designer translated the subcultures that shaped him as a creative, envisioning it through the technical functionality of Moncler Genius' garments. Black nylon pieces formed the blank canvas for contrasting embroideries, constructed to form jackets and sporty parkas iconic to the Americana silhouettes. Each piece retains the Moncler identity: chic, futuristic and wearable, embedded with the flair of the multi-hyphenated creative.

As a musician and an early DJ in Japan, how has music influenced your life and design?

Growing up, my older sister was passionate about music, so I was exposed to a wide variety of genres from a young age. This sparked my interest in the punk music scene and its history. Music continues to shape my life and creative work in countless ways. Old and new influences, whether in music, fashion, or other areas, always draw me in. I approach design similarly to how hip-hop artists sample different eras—mixing elements from various times and styles. While my music and fashion preferences develop, I remain open to all genres, often listening to random songs from playlists. I believe in the power of eclecticism.
