Art Deco '20s and Streamline Moderne '30s

The 1920s was the time of all things Art Deco. An iconic period, it is known for its rich colours and extravagant details. If you live for a touch of bling, then this aesthetic is for you. Filled with metallic accents, the Art Deco period simply oozed luxury.

Said to have been inspired by transportation (yes, planes, trains and automobiles) the decor trends in the '30s were full of curves. This source of inspiration also set in motion the use of steel, glass and concrete accents. The colour palette was also a far cry from the loudness of the '20s. Streamline Moderne heroed neutral shades such as cream, ivory and light pastels.
