A 22,000 sq ft Nagpur home by HS Desiigns shows how design can nurture individuality while keeping everyone close

While most of the furniture is also customised, the curtains are from Embelliish and the wall veneer from Venzo our cities rise faster than ever, the notion of a single home binding generations feels almost nostalgic. Yet for one growing Nagpur family, it was a dream worth pursuing a home where everyone could live together while still honouring their independence. Turning that vision into reality was no small feat; it meant creating a space that felt both shared and singular. Hitesh Shahanand, founder and principal designer of HS Desiigns, translated that idea into a 22,000 sq ft, six-storeyed residence that celebrates individuality within a unified architectural whole. With three duplexes under one roof one for each brother and his family he faced the delicate task of creating harmony without uniformity: a calm, minimalist retreat for the eldest; a warm, tactile home grounded in tradition for the second; and a bold, design-forward space for the youngest.
