It was a regular day packed with meetings, site visits and materials selections when I got a call from a dear friend saying he was about to introduce me to his friend regarding a home. I didn’t think much of it and agreed. Soon the call turned into a meeting and to my surprise, the house was all done up by another agency and was quite literally a few days away from handover.

It was my first meeting with the homeowner, Karan Singh Thakur, the young scion of the Thakur group of companies. This was to be his bachelor pad, a party place where he could entertain his friends. A fashionista, with a keen eye for art and collectibles, I assumed I would walk into a madhouse with as much personality as Karan himself exudes. But even in its final stage of completion, it was a far cry from what it could have been.
