Can you share a pivotal moment from your journey when your humble beginnings inspired the birth of 'Strands'? 

The decision to start my salon sprouted from a crossroads after graduation. Shifting from medical sales to Lakme, two years there fuelled my passion for beauty. The desire to forge my path solidified, and I left my distributor job to explore the salon industry. The vibrant market captivated me, and I envisioned establishing a premier Indian salon chain. In 2005, with a dream, I inaugurated my first 'Strands' outlet in Chandigarh. This pivotal choice, shaped by diverse experiences and ambition, catalysed my journey. Strands' growth from that seed is a testament to the blend of courage, vision, and embracing the unknown.

Tell us about your vision and the challenges on your journey?

When I embarked on my salon journey, my vision stretched beyond the immediate horizon. I perceived an opportunity to establish a substantial salon chain from a global perspective and a keen analysis of international trends. Embracing the franchising concept, I recognized its potential for widespread growth and expansion. In 2007, we set a pioneering precedent by sealing our first-ever salon franchise deal.

However, navigating this path wasn't devoid of challenges. Faced with resistance, industry leaders questioned our unconventional approach. Undaunted, I found promise in 2-tier and 3-tier cities, an insight that yielded remarkable success.
