Driven by founder Leon Leong's adventurous spirit, BOLDR embodies the union between Leong's passion for technology and love of bouldering. BOLDR's watches are - as its name suggests indeed bold in terms of designs.

Although the spirit of adventure heavily informs each of its releases, each watch reflects a different aspect of that same spirit, often resulting in unconventional designs. Case in point is one of BOLDR's latest releases, the Black Dragonfish.

The third release in the Superkuro Musou Black series, the nearly all-black timepiece takes design cues from the stealthy deep-sea creature with elite predatory instincts. The dial is finished in proprietary Superkuro Musou Black that absorbs 99% of light, while the case is coated in black DLC mimicking the dragonfish's black scales. The dial also has no furniture - a deliberate choice intended to further emphasise the blackout, stealthy aesthetic of the watch. The use of BGW9 SuperLumiNova on the minute, hour, seconds and GMT hands, lume pip, and Arabic numerals on the chapter ring emulate the bioluminescence of the deep sea dwelling creature.

Not forgetting its rugged, tool watch roots, the Miyota 9075 'flyer' GMT movement is also protected by Parashock - an in-built shock absorption system, and is water resistant to just over 300m, making the timepiece more resilient, and the perfect wrist-bound partner for a seabound adventure.
