Ben Fogle has visited more countries than most over the years, but one destination he hadn't ticked off his bucket list was China – until now. ‘When the opportunity came up to make an epic three-part series in which I would reach as many different aspects of China and Chinese life as possible, it seemed the perfect time to do it!’ enthuses Ben, 52, as TV Times catches up with him for a chat.

The journey sees him mix the familiar with the unexpected. For example, as well as joining workers restoring the Great Wall of China, the opening episode finds him in Shanghai to immerse himself in its underground LGBTQ vogueing dance community.
