As best mates Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman join TV Times for a chat about their latest motorcycle adventure, it's easy to see from their natural banter and lovely skill of finishing each other's stories how their friendship has stood the test of time. 'When we did our first trip together, we met a guy who said, "When you do a journey like this with your friend, you have to be prepared to split up." But we've never been at that place,' shares Star Wars favourite Ewan, 54, who met fellow actor Charley, 58, on the set of 1997 romantic-drama film The Serpent's Kiss.

Now, following an epic quest from London to New York City - travelling east - in their first travelogue Long Way Round (2004), plus sequels Long Way Down (2007) and Long Way Up (2020), the pair are heading off on refurbished vintage motorcycles - Charley on a 1972 BMW and Ewan on a 1974 Moto Guzzi - around Europe for new 10-part series Long Way Home on Apple TV+.
