Darn that social media. Although the modernday phenomenon can bring people together, in the wrong hands it can cause misery and pain, as Marlon and Rhona discover when he posts a video appealing for April’s safe return.

No closer to tracking down his daughter, who has been missing since Christmas Day, Marlon is understandably at his wits’ end.

‘When she first went missing, he went into a denial-style panic of, “She’ll be back in the next hour,”’ says Mark Charnock, who plays the distressed dad.

‘Two weeks in, she’s still not here, and he is approaching depths he didn’t know were possible.’
