HEADS OF STATE NEW FROM WEDNESDAY 2 JULY, PRIME VIDEO ACTION COMEDY

Leading a country is never easy. But the bickering British Prime Minister and US President at the heart of Prime Video's action-adventure film Heads of State are beset by unparalleled danger and disaster when they are forced to team up to save the world...

Idris Elba plays level-headed ex-soldier Sam Clarke, who has been in Downing Street for several years but his popularity is waning, while John Cena is idealistic Will Derringer, a former actor famed for the (fictional) Water Cobra movie franchise, who is now riding high as the recently elected incumbent of the White House.

The traditional 'special relationship' between the UK and the US hits some stumbling blocks when Sam and Will meet in London. As they lock horns, their friction and their different approaches to politics become clear at a joint press conference. 'Sam's this snarky, self-aware Prime Minister and Will's this brash, inexperienced, gung-ho actor turned President and not super-qualified but he makes up for it with passion,' says John, 48.

"There's tension because Sam endorsed Will's opponent during the election and Will won but he needs everyone to like him. So he's trying to win Sam over but he's not listening to what Sam is saying!'
